By Poelano Malema on 04 March 2015 at 08:31 · Comments
Rebecca Malope spoke to Now.co.za about her successes as well as her recent release, AMA-VIP.

Rebecca Malope needs no introduction. Not only has she released 36 albums with many songs that have become hymns, but she has won countless awards including the Lifetime Achievement award at the Crown Gospel Awards in 2008.

Born in the rural area of Kanyamazane in Nelspruit, Ma'm Rebecca left her hometown to move to Johannesburg in the early 80’s to make a name for herself. The 46-year-old rose to stardom in her early 20s.

She started off as a bubblegum singer before getting her big break in gospel.

And now, not only is she the queen of gospel, but a mother, a wife and an actress.

Ma'm Rebecca took time off her busy schedule to talk to our sister site NOW about her secrets to success, married life, and how she manages to remain humble despite the fame.

When Rebecca Malope walked in to our offices in Rivonia, the reaction was unbelievable as all of our colleagues turned into instant groupies. Just the amount of cameras on phones that were suddenly whipped out by our crew was testament to the love that people have for her around the country.
