The actress and musician has been focused on the art of music of late.

All eyes were on Durban this past weekend. Durbanites got to mingle with their favourite celebrities. Even those who had disappeared from the industry could not miss the good weekend in Ethekwini.

While we were enjoying ourselves at the Ushaka Marine World Pool Party experience, where Metro FM was broadcasting live, we bumped into actress and musician Keabetswe Motsilanyane, famously known as KB.

She had a surprise performance where she rocked the stage. The lady can still move - age is definitely just a number. KB had taken some time off from the music industry and it was good seeing her performing again.

ZAlebs had a chat with her.

Hi KB, What a surprise performance, where have you been?

I have not seen myself for a long time (laughs), but I have been working on some music. I never really stopped working on music but at this point my main thing is to start performing again. I have done enough for people to still appreciate what I am doing without bombarding them with new stuff but new music will come, but for now I just want to perform.

Does that mean fans can expect to see you performing songs from your previous albums more often?

Yes, but I have done quite a few things. I have a collaboration with Euphonik called Feel so good which was a year ago,  another one with Ralf Gum called My Angel released late last year and with Ernie Smith called Wena and it recently came out. Right now the emphasis is not on producing an album but on what I am doing as an artist, my presence will have an impact more than an album.

Can you share with us why you Ieft left Rhythm City?

What happened is that Rhythm City decided not to renew my contract, I had been working on a year contract and it ended. They said for now they will not need my character and then I decided it was time to do music again because I have not had time due to the demand from the soapie. I didn’t want to go back to do another tv show because I would have faced what I was unhappy about, soapies takes a lot of time. In the meantime, I will only do feature characters.
