Interviews: Mampho Brescia on her new role on Mfolozi Street
By ZAlebs on 15 February 2016 at 09:14 · Comments
Mampho spoke about her new role on Mfolozi Street and how different her new character is to that of her role on Isibaya.

After finding out that Mampho Brescia scored a new gig on SABC 1’s Mfolozi Street, ZAlebs caught up with the actress to hear about her new role on the drama series and what she has learned from her new cast members and crew.

One thing that Mampho made clear about her new role is that she does not want people to compare her new character to that of her role as Iris on Isibaya.

“I certainly don’t want them to be anything alike, the two characters aren’t similar at all. My new character has her own background, her own issues and identity and I definitely want to display that in the show.”

Juggling two acting jobs is a lot of work, especially considering that one needs to get used to their new cast members and crew.

However, Mampho explained that getting along with her Mfolozi Street cast members and crew has been nothing but a breeze and a great learning experience.

“Even though I’m a newcomer on Mfolozi Street, what I love about the cast is that they’re also currently working on other TV shows. So we all understand the demanding nature of juggling acting jobs," she added.

"And what I like about that is that it helps us teach each other in a way, we have a whole lot of fun and go all out whenever we’re all together. The cast has welcomed me with open arms which is something I’m grateful for.”

Besides acting, Mampho has also associated herself with brands like Lux on a campaign called Ignite The Spark alongside the likes of LeeAnn Dlamini.

The campaign was based on how married women could keep the spark ignited in their relationships.

“I’ve been married now for 11 years and we all know that any kind of relationship entails working and constantly wooing your partner because you can easily grow apart. It’s the effort that you put into your relationship that helps it thrive and I was more than glad to do that campaign and help other ladies ignite the spark in their own relationships," she said.

Beam me up... My love.
