It's bling bling for Jenny Morris
It's not very often that a chef can boast their very own jewellery collection. Such is the case with the Cape Town-based chef and TV personality, Jenny Morris. ZAlebs reporter Clayton Morar attend the launch of her new jewellery range to see what the fuss was all about.
Jenny Morris is one of South Africa’s most loved food personalities and it seems that whatever she touches, turns to gold. The author, radio and television presenter and celebrity chef launched her very own bespoke jewellery collection in collaboration with Cape Town jewellery designer, freeRange Jewels.
freeRange jewels was founded in 2007, has become synonymous with innovative design and boasts an extensive collection that has become nationally recognised. The launch was held at the Cape Quarter store in the city centre, attended by some of Cape Town's top socialites and business folk.
Known for being the first SA chef to have her very own TV show Cooking with Jenny Morris on the internationally-popular network, Food Network, Jenny's affordably priced designs are priced from R1240 and upwards.
“freeRange jewels and their unique designs caught my eye about four years ago, I am a loyal fan and am thrilled to be the inspiration for this range,” said Jenny.
The exclusive Jenny Morris range boasts combinations of sterling silver, 9 carat yellow gold as well as diamond accents.
Jenny, who has cooked for A-listers such as Prince Charles, Thabo Mbeki and Oscar winner Charlize Theron, told ZAlebs she's been a big fan of the jewellery manufacturer.
“I am someone who enjoys bold, statement jewellery and I've just enjoyed how classic their designs are. It wasn't until I received fan mail from audiences who watched my cooking show on The Food Network, that I was asked where I had bought my jewellery – and that's how the idea came for me to start my very own range.”
