Rapper Khuli Chana made his country proud over the weekend when he won the award for Best Male Southern Africa at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
Chana last week jetted off to America, where he attended the AFRIMMAs at the Eisemann Centre in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, and which he left with his first international award.
As the winner of the Best Male Southern Africa award, Chana faced stiff competition from fellow nominees including AKA and Donald from SA, Slap Dee from Zambia, Zeus from Botswana, Stunner form Zim, and Tha Dogg from Namibia.
Other South African musicians who came out top at the 2014 AFRIMMAs were songbird Zahara, who was named Best Female Southern Africa, DJ Oskido, who won the Music Producer of the Year award, and Mafikizolo and Uhuru, who won Best Collaboration for ‘Khona’.
Veteran singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka was honoured with the Legendary Award.
