Proverb took to the SA Idols stage once again last night, and the toughest part of being a presenter has to be when you break one contestant's dream and tell them they are going home. Last night it was the turn of Kyle Deutschmann to bow out of the Idols arena after Proverb revealed that the singer would be heading home.
This season has been a competitive affair and Kyle can hold his head up very high after making it to the top five, but his journey ended after he received the lowest number of votes last week. We managed to catch up with the disappointed, but ultimately proud finalist who shared his thoughts on the entire experience.
It must be disappointing to leave after finding yourself so close to the finish line, but how has the whole experience been?
It's been completely unbelievable. I keep saying this, but I've been treated like absolute gold here and it's almost like an unrealistic preparation of what the music industry is like. Everyone is telling you what to do and when to do it, the experience has been unreal.
Its not the end for you, what will you be doing next?
As soon as we're allowed to release music I'll be working on some material. In the meanwhile they can find a track from DJ Fisherman, of Afrotainment, and there's a track with Cassper Nyovest that's out at the moment. There are some collaborations planned in the future. My own stuff will be coming out as soon as possible.
Who do you think is going to take this year's Idols crown?
Who isn't here now that you think should have made it this far
That's a tough one! I think it's spot on as it is, everyone deserves to be where they are.
If you had one final message for your voters, it would be...?
Thank you for bringing me this far! Let's just wait until I start releasing my music and my next adventure begins!
We wish Kyle all the best in his future endeavours! For now, hold on tight and we'll have our full Idols recap, brought to you by the good folks at Eskom and sponsored by Load Shedding, in a few!
