This is definitely a great year for Lerato Kganyago.
The TV presenter, who joined Metro FM this month, has now also joined SABC 2 soapie Muvhango.
According to Sunday World, Lerato will play a rich businesswoman from the Mojalefa family. The paper reported that the DJ started shooting three weeks ago and will make her first appearance in June.
A Muvhango actor, who did not want to be named, told Sunday World that Lerato beat other hopefuls at the auditions and that producers are happy with her performance. "She demostrated during the set that she is the right person for this role," the actor said.
Producers apparently told Lerato to keep mum about the role as they want to "surprise viewers of the show". Muvhango publicist Kgalema Mametse confirmed the news to the paper.
"She is playing Masebotsa, a cousin of Mangwashe who is the daughter of Lerumo Mojalefa. She will be seen on our screens in winter," he said.
Lerato has proven that she never gives up on her dreams. She recently revealed that she sent her demos to Metro FM for three years straight, before they officially accpte her. "I never gave up. The rejection hurt but I pushed. God always tests your strengths," she wrote on Twitter.
Congatulations, Lerato. We wish you all the best.
