The viral social media campaign has sparked a powerful conversation around South Africa.

Thando Thabethe's #MakeItStop campaign has been well received.

The actress, who launched the initiative to highlight awareness against abuse, has asked celebs like Khanya Mkangisa, Manaka Ranaka, and others to assist her. Their images, which show the aftermath of domestic violence, have gone viral on social media.

The campaign has also inspired some victims of abuse to speak out. One woman took to Facebook to share a bit of her story.

On why she started the campaign, Thando explained on her Instagram page: "I witnessed my mom being beaten at the hands of my father for most of my childhood, my father btw was the most INCREDIBLE parent, filled with love and everything a good parent is. This in a way is a tribute to both my mom and my dad. My mom for soldiering through it, for coming out stronger and harder. My dad for what I know HE knows was his biggest flaw and ultimately led to his death by suicide."

Several celebs have rallied behind her on social media.
