Having millions of fans watch your every move on stage and being in the spotlight is not new territory for Kevin Jonas, member of the multi-chart topping group the Jonas Brothers. After falling in love and marrying the woman of his dreams in the Bahamas in 2009, New Jersey girl-next-door Danielle Deleasa, the celebrity couple are now showing millions of viewers from around the world just exactly how they balance their marriage, worldwide fame and dealing with their contrastingly different families in the E! Entertainment reality TV show, Married to Jonas.
Speaking to ZAlebs via telephone from Los Angeles, Jonas said the show was all about showing people just how “normal” they are when not working in Hollywood and how difficult it is to balance the family and work.
“We're just trying to make our marriage work and when you have both our families – whom I might add are very outspoken – it's been very hard to juggle our marriage and careers, and the show gives viewers that inside look as to what makes Danielle and myself tick,” he shared.
The show, which also sees Kevin and his brother Joe and Nick reunite for their next album and world tour, is all about how the Jonas family members love working together as a unit.
“We also thought it would be great to show the fans how me and my brothers are heading back to the studio to record new music after three years, for our upcoming tour and album,” he explained.
Jonas added that one of the added pressures of his life now is that Danielle, a former hairdresser in New Jersey, is keen to have a baby.
“The biggest difficulty in my marriage is Danielle and I trying to start a family. In the past we haven't found common ground and now that I'm preparing to go back on tour, it's been quite a challenge for us to deal with.”
While the Jonas Brothers are working on their upcoming international tour, Jonas said he is keen to visit South Africa.
“I want to go so badly, hopefully this year or early next year. Our plan is to try and reach as many territories as before or even more, and I hope South Africa is on the list too.”
Married To Jonas airs Sunday on E! Entertainment on DStv's Channel 124 at 23:00
