What's Hot: MTV Base reveals SA's Hottest MCs 2015
By Siyathemba Ben on 26 November 2015 at 17:25 · Comments
The first part of the show aired on Thursday afternoon.

South African hip hop artists have had a great 2015.

We saw artists like AKA, Cassper Nyovest, K.O, Riky Rick and others achieve great success with their albums.

Cassper even took this further after becoming the first artist in Mzansi to have a soldout show at the Ticket Pro Dome (20 000 people). The Mama I Made It hitmaker even signed a big endorsement deal with MTN.

All these facts were probably considered while compiling MTV Base's 2015 Hottest MCs list. The first part of the roundtable aired on Thursday afternoon.

The show was very heated, with panelists, including Tbo Touch, Slikour and Ms Cosmo, debating which artist should be on which spot.

The roundtable kicked off with Zawke on the number ten spot. But after a heated discussion, the Kwa Zulu-Natal rapper was removed from the list and L-tido replaced him.

iFani was placed at number nine, while Kid X took the eigth spot. Kwesta seemed to be a favourite as he was first placed at number nine and then moved to seventh position.

After Khuli Chana's name came up, it was decided that he should be moved to position seven, which resulted in Kwesta claiming the sixth spot. Will he retain this position?

If you're wondering how the list was compiled, Sizwe Dhlomo explained:

The second part of the show airs on Friday, 27 November. Last year, K.O was crowned SA's Hottest MC. We wonder who will take the title this year!
