Interviews: Pasop! Nomuzi is upping her rapping skills
By Zee Nonjabulo on 07 August 2015 at 10:26 · Comments
Skhanda Queen Nomuzi spoke to ZAlebs about her bars on DJ Vigilante's new single "Pasop!", featuring the entire Cashtime crew.

Cashtime member DJ Vigilante has returned with a new, but unreleased single, entitled Pasop!, which will feature the entire Cashtime team.

If you take a look at the team's social media platforms, the rappers and DJ have strategically promoted the single by posting each letter of the word Pasop!.

Pasop! also marks the second time the first lady of the crew, Nomuzi, appears on a song. ZAlebs asked the Skhanda Queen about her part in the song and if she writes her own lyrics?

“I think what’s great for me is that being in Cashtime Life is like being in hip hop 101, basically I have the best teachers in the game. For me to be around these guys and not learn a thing or two would be really, really pointless. I usually take a little bit longer to write but when we went into the studio to record the song, I was just like ‘ok I’m next!" she said.

"So, I mean, I definitely took up the challenge and I’m really trying to learn. All my competitors are pushing their pen game on a daily and have been for a very long time, so I’d be selling myself short if I didn’t put my best foot forward. So, yes, I’m out there, I’m writing it would be pretty stupid if I wasn’t writing.”

In the new single, Nomuzi has the third verse in the song. ZAlebs had the honour of listening to the single a few days ago before its upcoming release, and, by the looks of things, Nomuzi is certainly upping her bars on this song.

Pasop! will be released on 13 August 2015, and ZAlebs will bring it to you first! We will also be running a competition in conjunction with the release, while we will have plenty more surrounding the song in the coming days. You best stay tuned to us!
