Reviews: #OPW: Love knows no size

Love surpasses everything, it goes beyond human understanding and it’s probably nature’s beautiful way of keeping the human species alive and reproducing.

This week’s couple is a perfect example that love transcends nationality, race, religion and weight. Dumile is black and slightly heavier, while his wife Esther is coloured and petite, and we agree it’s a bit of an unusual combination, but India Arie describes this situation better in her song; Eyes of the Heart.

There is no doubt that Esther is smitten with her man, she made sure she held and stroked her husband’s arm throughout and the way she looked at him; it’s those eyes you only get when you look at your bank account on payday.

When Dumile mentioned that he didn’t pay lobola we immediately raised the bar of expectations because it meant he had more money to spend on his wedding. Fortunately, the Vukiles didn’t disappoint.

Let’s start with the groomsmen who unleashed their James Bond game and looked unquestionably snazzy in their black tuxes. What impressed us the most is that black is not an easy colour to play with on weddings, but these men held it together and hit a home run.

As for the groom and his suit? Well, we don’t have issues with his weight whatsoever; but we do feel like he would have looked a whole lot of dimensions better if he was slimmer.

Esther rejuvenated us with her multi-dress. That wedding gown was an epitome of sheer exquisite. We totally loved it.

But it seemed like Esther paid too much attention to her own dress and forgot about the bridesmaids. They looked like they were members of a choral music choir.

Based on previous episodes, we are accustomed to common wedding vows or lack thereof. But this couple had the most beautiful heartfelt wedding vows. We had to grab a Kleenex for this.

The ultimate had to be the cake and décor. We loved how they incorporated their initials and the theme on the cake. We are sure it tasted as good as it looked. The vintage theme won our votes, it was all sizes chic, sophisticated and looked swanky.

We have no qualms whatsoever concerning this wedding. It was beautiful and the vows left us teary.

We give the Vukelas an impressive ten and, no, it’s not because they look like ten when they are together, but because they deserve it.
