Reviews: #OPW: Was that really their first kiss?

The couple kissed for the first time at their wedding. We're finding that hard to believe.

Usually, when people hit their early twenties, their focus is on studies, career and living la vida loca. However, Tshepiso (23) knew while he was still in matric that he wanted to marry his high school sweetheart, Lerato (22)

According to this young couple, they have never kissed nor been intimate. We are not disputing that, we just find it very hard to believe because these two used to live together but slept in separate bedrooms. Here is a scenario: a cat is left with a mouse unsupervised and doesn’t even attempt to eat the mouse? Relatively impossible.

We choose to forgive the Motaungs for lying to us on national television. Judging from how everything unfolded during the wedding, it’s clear the couple had everything planned out and wanted to have a perfect "first kiss". But there are a few things we think they could have done differently.

Firstly, we didn’t like Tshepiso’s royal blue suit, he looked like an animal tamer at a circus show. And the nine bridemaids? We don’t know what’s worse, the fact that they were too many, or the dresses which made them look like they were promoting Surf washing powder?

The bride looked lovely in a dazzling gown, but that lace weave made her look like one of the characters in a Kung Fu movie. But let’s not forget the bride’s receding hairline, maybe that’s why she opted for that hairdo. Is it safe to assume that she’ll be bald by the time she’s in her 30s?

We have never heard of incorporation of fruits during wedding vows, but if that’s what the couple wanted and it made them happy, we are happy too. The groomsmen's outfits also made us happy. They looked very fresh and hip with their well-tailored suits and sneakers.

The decor was beautiful, nothing unusual but they managed to incorporate their traditional and modern theme perfectly. The wedding nearly hit a snag when the cake started melting and nearly fell off, but fortunately it was placed strategically on a calabash which was part of the cake. The best part was the traditional outfits.

This time the promotional girls looked the part, they were bridesmaids. Their dresses were on point, simple and smart, wearable even after the wedding. In a nutshell, we liked the traditional outfits better. We just hope this young couple didn’t get married because they wanted to kiss each other without feeling they are committing a sin. Out of ten, we give Tshepiso and Lerato a six.

Watch the kiss below.
