Ayanda Mpama is pleading with Mzansi viewers to give her a chance. The singer and TV presenter, who took over from Tumi Morake on #OPW, doesn't seem to have made a good impression on viewers so far. Will they ever give her a break?
Speaking about what she is bringing to the show, she told Drum magazine: "I am bringing me." Ayanda added: "I am who I am – take it or leave it. Once you start trying to be someone else, you’re not believable."
She explained how she got to be part of the show: "They sent a brief to my agent, detailing what they wanted. My agent sent a list of the of people she had. When they saw my name, they said they had been looking for me. After that, I auditioned and they told me that I got the job."
Although the people responsible for the show thought she'd be a great fit, some viewers are still not sold. Ayanda told Drum: "I will do my best to keep the viewers happy. All I'm asking is that they give me a chance to show them I’m not that bad even though I’m not Tumi. I’m looking forward to seeing many beautiful people getting married and sharing their love with Mzansi."
