The Oscar Pistorius trial kicked off again yesterday with more jaw dropping and heart-wrenching revelations of the dreadful events that unfolded on the fateful night Reeva lost her life. On the stand yesterday was Oscar’s neighbour, Carice Viljoen, who was questioned about the bloody valentine day that occurred at the Silver Woods Country Estate.
Like any other trial day, the court was filled with high emotions not only from the accused but by the witness herself who was reluctant to look when shown a certain picture (She thought it was going to be that of Reeva's lifeless body).
Viljoen entually put her inhibitions aside and proceeded to give a detailed encounter of what she witnessed moments after a hysteric Oscar had shot Reeva:
“As I opened the door, I walked in and saw Oscar carrying Reeva. He was carrying her down the stairs, he pleaded help. He just wanted to get her to the hospital.”
What we found interesting about Nel's cross examination was his continued questionining with regards to the cell phone used by Oscar whilst Reeva’s body lay in the house.
Viljoen also made it clear that Oscar desperately wanted to get Reeva to the hospital as soon as possible, even pleading for to them to give him a lift.
The estate's manager Johan Stander was also on the stand as a witness and expressed how bereaved Pistorius was to such an extent that he also wept whilst testifying.
"He was torn apart. broken and desperate." said Stander
The trial continues this week.
