Rihanna Sends Message to Miley in Pour it Up

In the battle of the twerkers, Rihanna has raised the stakes with her newest music video for the single, "Pour It Up" The music video has been trending all morning and is a clear message to other pop-stars.

It seems if you're not twerking as a female pop star, you're not doing it right. Iggy Azalea and Miley Cyrus have emerged as two of the most influential proponents of the Twerking movement, taking any opportunity they can to shake their bottoms. Why, even once-were-innocents, Vannesa Hudgens and Selena Gomez have caved in to the pressures of the outside world and can be seen twerking at live performances. However one lady has decided to take a stand (And subsequently lean over and begin twerking) Rihanna is back with her brand new music video for her single, "Pour it Up" and it's clear that the Barbadian beauty is sending a message to fellow twerkers.

Rihanna's Brand New Single, Pour It Up

One cannot forget the deathly glare that Rihanna cast towards Miley's crass VMA performance. While some may have thought Riri was deeming Miley's actions as inappropriate, many others believed that the "Diamonds" superstar was simply jealous. Giving Miley the evil eye because she'd been outshone. In hindsight, especially after seeing the new music video, the latter theory seems to be spot on. Rihanna's new music video is filled with stripper poles, money falling from the sky, and of course- a great deal of (Admittedly impressive) Twerk-Moves.

As sexy as the video may be, there can't be any denying that it is a clear reaction to the Twerking sensation that has taken over female pop music. Perhaps, more notably, the video could be seen as a subtle message to a certain blonde haired pop star, "This is how you REALLY Twerk, Miley, Keep Up"  Riri is also seen sitting on a grand chair throughout the music video- Another subtle message as to who (Rihanna thinks) is the Queen of Pop music. The second message, however, is a little premature -especially when you consider Miley amassed an incredible 19.3million views in 24 hours for "Wrecking ball". It's only been 4 hours and Rihanna is sitting on an underwhelming 189,000 views at the moment.

Miley Cyrus- Unperturbed by Rihanna's Reaction To Twerking Sensation

While it's clear to the naked eye who the better Twerker is (Rihanna, just in case you were in any doubt) It's equally clear who the bigger star is right now. As sexy as this music video is, the only person sitting on the throne of female pop music right now is Miley Cyrus. That's not a statement of talent, looks, or dancing ability. It's a statement of status.

Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are squabbling for second place at the moment. Nobody would have ever expected to be reading these words- but Miley Cyrus is untouchable at the moment.

Better luck with the next single, Rihanna.
