The SABC has suspended Unathi Msengana.

This comes after the Metro FM DJ's comments about racism at Stellenbosch University on her morning show, upset some listeners. 

Disappointed listeners took to Twitter to voice their opinions, and this led to the #UnathiBeLike hashtag. One tweet from the hashtag offended Unathi and she ended up swearing at the user and calling her a "psycho b**ch".

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago told Destiny magazine that Unathi would be off air until the matter's investigated. 

He added: "The questions she asked on air were valid and there was nothing wrong with her questions. We decided to put her off until we finish engaging with her about the issue. We have no control over DJs and what they do in their private space, but our DJs should know that they are the representatives of the brand." 

Kaizer said he's not sure when Unathi will be back on air. "She could be back at work tomorrow or any other day. The sooner we finish engaging with her, the quicker she can be scheduled back on air."
