After months of not being on air with her co-host, DJ Mo Flava, the SABC has confirmed that DJ Sammy Sosa no longer works for the radio station.

According to Sunday World, Sammy was fired because of her alleged dishonesty regarding her health. SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago confirmed that the SABC has indeed let Sammy go.

"We can confirm that the SABC has terminated the services of Ms. Lehoko due to material breach of her employment contract between herself and the SABC." said Kganyago.

In July, ZAlebs had reached out to Sammy after she hadn't been present on the Morning Fix with Mo Flava for weeks on end.

At the time Sammy Sosa assured that she was not fired from the radio station:

"Yes, I’m still pretty much on the show, I’ve told people that I’m coming back to work soon and no I haven’t been fired. I haven’t been demoted, I haven’t been suspended, it’s nothing like that, nobody is in s…t. In terms of my relationship with Metro FM, everything is still cool, it’s not anything, anybody needs to be worried about. In a situation where it involves two parties I don’t like to be the one talking to people, I always try and wait for the other party to speak first but honestly there’s nothing wrong.” Sammy Sosa said.

However, Sammy Sosa has been enjoying a flourishing career in television as the host of Vuzu's reality show The Hustle. Like the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens. It's so unfortunate, though, Sammy was such a breath of fresh air on the radio.
