More drama has occurred within the Meyiwa family. It’s been reported that the family has been frustrated over life cover payments that have not yet been paid to them, even eight months after Senzo’s passing.
According to The Star, Senzo’s father revealed that the delay has even put their lives in danger and that the family has been struggling to support their closest family members.
“I don’t know, I have been waiting for too long. They (Pirates) say they are still waiting for people who are supposed to pay. The other day they said they are still waiting for the police. It’s very frustrating, even my life is in danger now,” he told the publication.
It’s alleged that Meyiwa’s life cover was reportedly valued at R5-million at the time of his passing.
The family is said to be so frustrated at the situation and have taken drastic measures by approaching the South African Football Players Union (SAFPU) for help.
“As the union, we have engaged the PSL, but the process is going slowly. This is obviously frustrating for the family, but we trying to get the PSL to expedite the matter.” SAFPU president Simba Marumo said.
