Today, 25 November, marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism campaign against women and children abuse.
Millions around the country have tweeted their pledge against abuse with the #16DaysOfActivism hashtag.
However, some South Africans believe that the campaign is an ineffective attempt at tackling an issue that continues to destroy households and communities throughout the country.
One of those people is Simphiwe Dana, who has clearly stated that the campaign is just a waste of time.
