The Isibaya and former Generations star caused a stir yesterday when it emerged he had been caught speeding recklessly. He has, however, settled his fine.

As the news spread across the country about actor Siyabonga Twala who was caught speeding off when cops issued him with a fine.

ZAlebs did a follow up on the story, RTI Spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu said this morning, Siyabonga called the cops to settle his fine.

“Siyabonga had just called Groutville RTI and promised to pay for his fine. Before he called, RTI was awaiting authority to issue a warrant of arrest because we could not get a hold of him but since he has contacted us that arrest won't be necessary,” said Mngomezulu.

The Isibaya actor and Ukhozi FM voice artist was caught speeding at 153 KM in a road that allows a speed of 120 KM in Ballito, Durban on Tuesday morning.

“ His details were taken at 9:55 am on Tuesday, after he had sped off in a Mercedes Benz that was driven by him, the tracker showed us that he was already in Jobug whereas he had told cops that he was rushing to a meeting here in KZN,” explains Zinhle.

Mngomezulu also added that Siyabonga had given cops a false address which does not belong to him or the car he hired.

“He was totally wrong, he should have taken the ticket because he had already stopped. We are really disappointed about his behaviour, he is a role model and should take responsibility for his action, as RTI all we wanted was for him to be responsible.” said Mngomezulu.
