Steve Hofmeyr arrested for speeding

Our local celebrities have become quite accustomed to being jail-birds this week, in a space of a couple of hours we've seen Maggie Benedict ('Akhona" from Generations) E.F.F leader Julius Malema and Steve Hofmeyer get arrested for shoplifting and exceeding the speed limit.

According to certain reports Steve Hofmeyr was arrested in Bronkhorstspruit on Thursday night for speeding, Gauteng traffic police said.

"He [Hofmeyr] was arrested in the Bronkhorstspruit area for travelling 169km/h in a 80km/h zone," spokesperson Busaphi Nxumalo said.

"He is charged with reckless and negligent driving and for exceeding the general speed limit and will appear in the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate's Court on Friday."

Steve and former ANC leader Julius Malema, both were arrested on the same night for speeding and Steve will remain behind bars.
