Patricia Taylor, co-author of ‘Oscar: An Accident Waiting to Happen’ recently revealed that her family had received money for interviews about paralympian Oscar Pistorius and his murder trial.

Patricia Taylor, who co-wrote the book Oscar: An Accident Waiting to Happen has revealed that she was paid to be interviewed on the book during the time of Oscar's murder trial. Taylor’s daughter, Samantha, dated Pistorius for over a year and Patricia recently released a tell all book on the family and Pistorius with author Melinda Ferguson.

Taylor initially denied to The Juice that the family had received payment for interviews on the highly published case.

She since told The Juice that the family had received payment for their stories but had chosen the media outlets carefully.

“Since the tragic death of Reeva Steenkamp we have been inundated with offers of payment from a wide variety of media of sometime outrageous amounts to conduct interviews. I can confirm now that we have accepted payment to conduct interviews, but have been very selective to ensure it is the correct platform for our message,” she explained.

Publicist Dayne Stern from PR company, Marcus Brewster, who represents the family revealed that the family had received money due to the intrusion the trial presented.

“The Taylor family as a whole has received money for interviews. This is because of costs involved – like the intrusion of life,”

“However, they did not always go for the highest amount of money, but rather the publication they thought would best get their story out there,” Stern added.
