Koketso and LK4 are the second housemates to be evicted from the Big Brother Africa house! Zibuyile Dladla chat to the pair to find out more about their time in the house and asks whether their relationship was all just part of a clever strategy to help them stay in the game...
LK4 you said an emotional prayer before you got evicted. What was running through your mind at that time?
Yea, I was unaware that I was going to be leaving but at the same time I didn’t want to force certain situations. I just wanted to submit to the process, if I were to be evicted let me just say something that will be sincere, nothing scripted nor planned and I sincerely hope my message was felt.
Koketso, certain reports have mentioned that the main reason why you were evicted was because most of the time you and LK4’s microphones were either muted or off. Do you feel that is why your housemates voted you off or were there other reasons?
Well the public votes at the end of the day and I’m not sure if the public was judging us because our microphones were either off or muted. I think it is what it is and the public just voted for who they wanted to see leave the house and it just happened to be LK4 and me. I don’t think Big Brother decides whether or not you leave the Big Brother is just mainly concerned with the technical issues within the house.
LK4 even though you didn’t win the grand prize do you still plan on building your own basketball academy back home?
Basketball is my profession and that will never stop. I did not win the prize but I feel that I’ve won prizes on many other levels but my focus is still the same. I still do plan on building a basketball academy back home for the youth.
Koketso, in your BBA bio you mentioned that you entered BBA because you wanted a new challenge and something to help build your brand…
I initially had entered Miss SA and that was like the base of building my “Koketso” brand. BBA was just a matter of building onto that Miss SA platform. I received a positive response from the public when I entered Miss SA so I wanted to challenge myself with BBA and just capitalise on that response and just reveal a little bit more of myself.
This question is for the both of you, will you continue your relationship as a couple or was it all part of a strategy?
LK4: Well I would say that what I and Koketso have is something that’s very special. We have a beautiful friendship and we’re not trying to put any form of pressure on each other. I think the best thing for us to do is to just build on that friendship and not allow society or our circumstances to dictate how we should continue with our relationship. We’re just focusing on enjoying one another’s company whether we’re in Uganda or South Africa. It really is all about establishing our friendship - we’re going to grow and see where our friendship takes us.
Koketso: Our relationship was completely natural, maybe the circumstances in the house were a bit weird but at the end of the day we started our friendship there. We just plan on building on our friendship even more now that we’ve left the house.
Anything else you’d like to share with the public since your eviction last night?
LK4: I’ve been evicted out of the Big Brother Africa house but I hope I haven’t been evicted out of people’s hearts! I love everyone from Africa and I hope I’ve made Uganda proud. I have no regrets. I came in there with a plan but I came out emotionally attached with so many people in the house and it was just the best experience ever. Lastly, thank you to South Africa. You guys have treated me well and I am so thankful for the opportunity that was given to me.
Koketso: I’m basically going to grab at every opportunity that comes my way. I’m not going to be relaxing - from here on out the sky’s the limit! Thank you to all the BBA viewers for letting us into their homes every day.
