South African trio, The Soil are currently celebrating hitting Gold status for their album, Nostalgic Moments

It’s nothing but joy for The Soil as their second studio album hits Gold. The trio, who are currently on tour in the UK, posted this on their Facebook page just before departing to start their tour, “BREAKING NEWS! We are a few hundred copies away from reaching GOLD!”

Their album, Nostalgic Moments, was released on the 22 September 2014, and just a few weeks later has already hit Gold status with almost 24000 copies already sold. Upon hearing the news, the group tweeted yesterday, “Our new album #NostalgicMoments has reached GOLD. THANK YOU so much fam. NOW we take it all the way to #Platinum.”

At the rate they’re going, with their album being one of the most sort after in South Africa at the moment, the group might be closer to Platinum Status than they think.
