Drum reports that Twala has signed up to play the role of a suave, powerful tycoon called DH Radebe, who will apparently “trample all over Genaro’s territory, much to David’s chagrin”.
“He was raised outside South Africa and has always hero-worshipped his father, who was only sporadically present in his life,” the publication explains of the new character.
“He has been with many women, but has never fallen in love. He is said to sweep both Lucilla and Gail off their feet and irks David Genaro.
“He arrives as a man of mystery who is in Joburg because he has an obsessive quest for revenge.”
Twala is perhaps best known for his role as ruthless publisher Vusi in e.tv soapie ‘Scandal!’, for which he won the Best Actor in a TV Soap at the 2007 South African Film and Television Academy awards.
He has also played Paul Mashaba in ‘Generations’ and is currently portraying the role of high-profile taxi boss Mpiyakhe Zungu in Mzansi Magic telenovela ‘isibaya’.
Twala will make his ‘Rhythm City’ debut as DH Radebe on Tuesday, 10 December.
