What's Hot: Watch: Somizi's hilarious Idols audition video
By Siyathemba Ben on 26 February 2015 at 09:10 · Comments
Err.. we didn't know that Idols judges could actually audition for the show as well, what on earth?!

Somizi has showed off his singing talent on Instagram after he posted a video of himself singing. In the clip, fellow SA Idols judge Unathi Msengana is heard saying "Somizi Mhlongo, you have 30 seconds to sing. Sing." And, what follows that is nothing but pure entertainment.

The choreographer starts off by singing and then finishes it all off with a litle dance.  It was brilliant and Somizi, who posted the video on his Instagram page, captioned it: "It is a yes from me."

Oh, we get that it was all a joke, but we can't help but wonder what would have happened if it was a real audition! Would Randall be impressed? (Kidding).

All jokes aside, I do believe that Somizi is serious about his role as a judge on the show. We have no doubt that he'll do everything in his power to make sure that the right person wins the title this year.

When asked about what he's looking for in an Idol, Somizi said in an interview earlier this month: "I'm looking for that wow factor, that thing that separates them from everyone else."

He added that he wants the full package. Having been following Idols as a fan, and a journalist over the past few years, I've noticed that a lot of people have begun to criticize certain artists who are talented performers, but perhaps lack the studio ability to produce good singles (Or sometimes the reverse). So it's good to hear Somizi emphasize the fact that he's looking for a well rounded artist.

With almost 30 years in the business, Somizi is definitely the right person for the job. And, we can almost gaurantee you that this season of Idols will be one to remember. Oh, and if nothing else, this Instagram post assured all Idols lovers there'll be loads of funny moments too. We just hope that he doesn't try to upstage contenstants with his, uhm... amazing voice.
