Kelly Khumalo seems to always be in the headlines.

If it's not about her music or controversy, it has to be about her relationships. The singer, who was in a relationship with late football star Senzo Meyiwa, has learned a lot of lessons. 

She spoke to Mo Flava on Metro FM's Morning Fix on Wedneday and said: "I think one of the biggest lessons I've learned is that we overqualify people by expecting more of what they can offer. Or what they are ready for as individuals. You have this superman, the perfect guy that you want out of this man and yet he's nowhere close to that. And when he does not meet your expectations you get disappointed. But why be disappointed when you overqualify the person?," she asked.  

The mother of two admitted that she questions the way she picks her men. She told Mo: "It's like I see them beyond what they are and beyond what they are capable of." 

In case you were wondering, Kelly doesn't really have a criteria for the kind of man she wants. "As you grow older there's no qualifications for love. Nobody needs certain qualities. The nicest thing is that at the end of the day we are all human beings and we have our flaws. And the person you pick should be a person you can put up with your flaws..." Kelly explained.  

She added that she is not looking for anything right now. "I am not. I am actually at the place where I'm very happy with myself and I'm focusing my career..."
