By Tamlyn Canham on 13 October 2015 at 14:39 · Comments
Rapper AKA stopped by The Daily Show to show some support for fellow South African Trevor Noah.

The Congratulate hitmaker was in the audience on Monday night to watch Trevor in action

AKA is living it up in the USA following his double win at the African Muzik Magazine Awards in Dallas, Texas, on Sunday.

He is currently in New York City, taking in the sights, eating tacos and even riding the subway.

AKA was also spotted “hanging out” with hip hop artist Peter Gunz

Meanwhile, the rapper’s beef with Cassper Nyovest has reportedly earned them both millions of rands worth of free publicity.

The City Press reports that AKA and Cassper, who were trending on Twitter on several occasions in recent weeks, likely received R23-million worth of free advertising on social media.

Their diss tracks caused a frenzy on Twitter and were also a hot topic on Facebook.

According to the paper’s social listening report, which was compiled by BrandsEye, fans in Nigeria, Botswana, Zambia, and America also joined the conversation.

Good Morning South Africa ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ As you you start your day I want to tell you a story about dreams. Dreams are what make us get up in the morning, they keep the fire burning. In our country, too often are people are ridiculed for the size of their dreams. The courage that it takes, the belief in yourself to move to the other side of the world and leave your comfort zone requires a lot of guts and bravery. I see a lot of similarities in Trevor and myself. While we are on different paths and in different lanes, myself, much like the rest of this continent's great talents, we are on a mission to change the way the WORLD sees us. There has never been a better time to be AFRICAN. It was really cool seeing first hand how big of a deal he had become in the states(the guy has ads in the subway, on the top of cabs ๐Ÿš– even!). It was a bit surreal watching it LIVE because I've been a big fan of the Daily Show for years(even now I watch it, see him as the host and have to keep reminding myself it's not a show on Mnet or something). I've known him for a while and besides him being in a bit of a rush(he's a busy guy now) ... He still took the time to make sure I was well taken care of and made sure we linked up after the show .... Definitely one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. So cheers @trevornoah ๐Ÿป ... All the best and God BLESS ๐Ÿ™ ... Keep making us proud ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ.
