The rapper finally received the recognition he deserves at the 21st annual South African Music Awards.

The prestigious event, which was held at Sun City on Sunday night, became one of the rapper's best evenings ever. He walked away with three awards, including the Kia Record of the Year award for Cara Cara, which features KidX.

This was definitely his moment to shine as a solo act. He is undoubtedly one of SA's hardest working musicians, and has been consistent, so it is great to see him getting a pat on the back.

The man of the moment took the time to also thanked everyone who has played a significant role in his success as a solo artist thus far.

Cara Cara owned SA music in 2014, becoming one of the greatest hip hop hits of last year. The video also hit the million mark on YouTube, proving once again that KO is on the right track.

We're genuinely happy for him, and wish him all the best on his next album. It seems the rest of Mzansi is also celebrating Mr Cashtime's big win - well, Cassper Nyovest at least.

Cassper, who won the award for Newcomer of the Year, wrote on Twitter: "I'm so happy Cara Cara finally won something... It was a big tune!!! Well done to the gents  #SAMAXXI."
