Ukhozi FM has taken the crown!

Congratulations to Ukhozi FM for officially being named as the biggest radio station in South Africa.

According to City Press, Ukhozi FM has a weekly listenership of 7.5-million people, pipping Metro FM to top spot. Metro FM has a listenership of 6.8-million people.

These statistics come from the latest Radio Audience Measurement Survey (Rams) findings.

Interestingly, 5FM are in joint eighth on the list, despite being a national broadcaster, while Jacaranda FM, a regional station, is in seventh.

Umhlobo Wenene FM came in third with a listenership of 4.6-million people.

1 - Ukhozi FM – 7,500,000
2 - Metro FM – 6,800,000
3 - Umhlobo Wenene FM – 4,600,000
4 - Lesedi FM – 4,000,000
5 - Motsweding FM – 3,100,000
6 - Thobela – 3,000,000
7 - Jacaranda FM – 2,000,000
8 - Kaya FM 95.9 – 1,800,000 & 5FM – 1,800,000
10 - RSG – 1,700,000
