Bonang Matheba couldn't help but cry after Friday morning's #AskAMan feature on her radio show.
The Metro FM DJ, who hosts The Front Row, probably couldn't predict how sad the caller's problem would be. The popular feature, which always trends on social media, sees listeners calling in every weekday asking for advice, especially regarding relationship problems.
The caller, who remained anonymous, has been in a relationship with her man for eight years. The guy cheated on her and even made her best friend pregnant.
The caller and her man had a son together. Unfortunately, their child passed away on Monday due to liver complications. A sum of R16,000 was paid out for the funeral. The caller told Bonang and her team that the guy left with the money and is spending it with his side chick. He's no longer taking her calls.
Bonang said: "Probably one of the saddest #AskAMan we've had. I couldn't hold back the tears."
She was not the only one feeling the caller's pain.
I'm in tears.... Oh God! #AskAMan πππππ

After hearing the story, a lot of people offered to contribute towards the funeral. DJ Fresh has offered to assist financially.

A caller from Pretoria said he'd help with the whole funeral, while another offered to buy a casket. The funeral is supposed to take place this weekend.
UPDATE:
It was later discovered that the caller lied about the story. A Metro FM listener took to Facebook to reveal that the lady had called in December, with a similar story.
So fast. Omg you people. So the lady is a con?? #AskAMan pic.twitter.com/61lcTIfHpf

Bonang took to Twitter to confirm that the caller's story was fake.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused. But after further investigation, our lady caller this morning was a sham! #AskAMan @METROFMSA
