Sometimes all you need is a bit of advice and sternness. According to Mpumalanga News, businessman Robert Gumede has taken it upon himself to give award-winning hip hop artist Cassper Nyovest a scolding over his much-publicised beef with rapper AKA.
Have you seen our re-enactment of Cassper and AKA's 'fight'?
The latest incident in the beef happened when AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, slapped Cassper Nyovest, real name Refiloe Phoolo, at a Johannesburg nightclub. AKA had denied that he slapped Cassper at first, but later admitted that he did hit the Mama I Made It hitmaker.
“This beef between you and AKA must come to an end,” Gumede said. He gave the Doc Shebeleza star some fatherly advice during his special performance on Sunday at the Nelspruit Botanical Gardens, during the Guma Family Day celebration.
“Does Patrice Motsepe have a business partner? No. Does Robert Gumede have a business partner? No," he added.
"Just imagine the impact and how much better our country would be if Motsepe and Gumede worked together as partners.
“You are a talented artist and so is AKA, so just imagine the impact you would have made if you worked together and continue to bless us with your music.”
“Together you would release hit after hits. But this beef between the two of you is certainly not healthy for our children who look up to you as their role models, so I beg you to stop it now. You are both excellent artists, just learn to humble yourselves and respect each other,” Gumede continued.
He added that if Cassper stopped his beef with AKA, he would invite both rappers to make an appearance during his family party festivities next year.
“Furthermore, in supporting your music and career, I am going to buy 500 of your CDs for my guests that are here today,” Gumede promised.
We can only hope that Nyovest takes this much-needed advice and puts it to good use.
