What's Hot: Muvhango to introduce Frank the Frog

With the success of Generations: The Legacy's snake plot, Muvhango has decided to follow suit.

Talk about keeping up with the competition!

Muvhango has decided to bring an animal of their own into the mix following the furore surrounding Mamlabo the Snake's entry into the Generations: The Legacy storyline.

Mamlabo has caused a stir on Generations: The Legacy, both with fans and traditional healers. The reptile is being used as part of traditional healing and prosperity scenes involving Tshidi, who is played by Letoya Makhene. Vuyo Dabula, who plays Tshidi's husband Gadaffi, is loving working alongside the snake.

To keep their own fans happy, Muvhango will be adding a frog to their storyline.

The frog, who will go by the name of Frank, has been brought on set to help one of the characters fall pregnant, which is in accordance with ancient Greek and Roman beliefs that frogs are closely related to fertility.

While it is not yet known when Frank the Frog will hop onto our screens, a source close to the soapie revealed more on the plot development.

The annoymous source told ZAlebs: "Frank will just hop around with a big character on the show, as she wants to fall pregnant. It has been advised that nobody kiss Frank, as the producers can't afford to pay another person if he turns into a prince. There are also concerns about people getting warts from the frog, but a volunteer from the SPCA will be on hand to handle the little guy."

Previous rumours linked Sindi Dlathu's character, Thandaza, with a move to have a sniffer dog help her find her lost belongings, but a frog is a little more believable, according to the source.

The Muvhango producers decided to bring Frank on board after a deal to sign up a lizard called Shelley fell through due to a contract dispute.

We will bring you more on this satire piece as and when we get it.
