Nomuzi has truly come a long way.

Nomuzi Mabena has taken some time to reflect on her career so far.

The media personality, who stole viewers' hearts after winning 2012's MTV Base VJ search competition, recently left the channel and will be doing some new and exciting things in her career.

But she realises that these new opportunities would not have been possible if it wasn't for MTV. She took to Instagram to write a heartfelt message of gratitude, mentioning that winning the competition in 2012 changed her life.

"I remember when MTV was that dope music channel with the sickest shows that I watched at my friend's house on weekends because we didn't have a decoder back then. Fast forward a couple of years and that channel was my life. I got to use my talent and love for African music and entertainment to take me all over the world. I met people from all walks of life and got to do things that most people couldn't even dream of."

She said she will never be the same again and thanked Viacom Africa and everyone at MTV and MTV Base for everything they've done for her.

"I will cherish this experience forever and all the lessons and memories are engraved in my heart. I really could go on and on but in short, I am so grateful and so blessed to have been apart of this incredible worldwide brand."

She added that it has been nothing but love since day one and nothing has changed. "I can only hope to continue to make you as proud of me as I am of you," the TV personality and musician wrote.

We wish you all the best on your new journey, Nomuzi.
