What's Hot: We appreciate Nthati Mosheshi & Vatiswa Ndara

A standing ovation is needed for two of the most talented stars in South Africa.

You’ve probably read a lot of articles giving praise to actresses, such as the talented Brenda Ngxoli, but there are two South African actresses who we also hold in high regard.

Actresses Nthati Mosheshi and Vatiswa Ndara hardly fall short of gripping our attention - whether they’re on a theatre stage or on our television screens.

Honestly, the two ladies could be the only cast members on a show and they’d still do an exceptional job at it, and probably even receive an award for their performance.

As a result, Vatiswa should be inundated with awards, right?

Unfortunately, to our surprise, the actress has just one award to her name. Vatiswa has a Golden Horn Award, which she received for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Like Vatiswa, Nthati Mosheshi also has just won one award, but she does not consider awards to be that important to her. In an interview with eNCA ,Nthati explained why.

She said: "Yes and no. No, because they detract from the work. Yes, because they are recognition for your work."

The actress explained that it is the work that makes the award, and not necessarily the award in itself. She also added that she does not take on roles just because she thinks they’re award-winning ones.

“But I love the work, and awards are at the back of my mind. I don’t take on roles thinking about whether they are award-winning roles."

Nthati Mosheshi, who plays Mamahoto on Saints and Sinners, had us on the edge of our seats a few weeks back when she went on a hysterical search for her kidnapped, on-screen daughter Phindi.

Although her character Mamahoto is hated by many, you can’t help but love this woman’s acting.

We agree with these tweets that these two ladies are definitely some of our finest acting talents in Mzansi.
