Cyber bullying is really getting out of control.
Everyday we see people getting bullied on social networks and it doesn't seem like this will stop anytime soon. Omuhle Gela recently took to Instgarm to address this issue. She was responding to something mean that was posted about popular Twitter and Instagram user, ThickLeeyonce, who has had her fair share of cyber bullying in the past.
The Umlilo actress wrote on her page: "Just saw this post on @thickleeyonce 's timeline and I'm gonna delete mine soon. I genuinely don't get how another human would find joy in hurting other people by saying such horrid things. I can relate cause I've had people judging me all the time based on what they've read or heard, 90% of these people don't even know me."
She believes that social media has exposed a lot of "troubled young girls/boys". "People who often do/say such clearly lack love or attention and this is the only platform that gives them what they might be struggling with internally or at home, I can imagine after posting this you'll either trend or gain a big following and you'll feel cool/loved/good which I imagine you don't at home/school or outside social media? I see so much hurtful things esp on twitter from people who won't have the slightest nerve to say that in reality..."
She added: "...I pray for their hearts to heal and I pray for a life for them outside social media, and on behalf of who hurt you, I'm deeply sorry cause look what it's done to you, check YOURSELF."
Great message, Omuhle. We couldn't have said it better.
