Several celebs have taken to social media to urge people to #MakeItStop.

Some of our favourite stars have ushered in Women's Month in the most powerful way.

Celebs like Thando Thabethe, Denise Zimba, Khanya Mkangisa, and others have taken to social media to share pictures of abused versions of themselves. In the pics, we see their bruised and bloody faces. They used a simple hashtag, #MakeItStop, which calls for an end to abuse.

Thando is hosting a netball challenge which is aimed at creating awereness against abuse. Her Thando Thabethe Women's Day Netball Challenge is in its second year after a successful launch in 2014. The event came from Thando's personal struggle with domestic violence at the hand of her father towards her mother.

In an interview on SABC1 talkshow Zaziwa, she explained: "Honestly, it was episodes that happened constantly. Maybe once a month if we're lucky..."

#MakeItStop is the social media initiative aimed to strengthen the message of power encouraged by the Thando Thabethe Women's Day Netball Challenge.
