What's Hot: SA fashion supports #FeesMustFall campaign

South African Fashion Week has shown support to the thousands of protesting students in Mzansi.

The runway is usually used to showcase beautiful clothes and the next big fashion trends.

It can also be used to make powerful statements about issues affecting the nation. This was proven at SA Fashion Week on Thursday, 22 October, as models walked the ramp holding #FeesMustFall posters.

This is in support of the thousands of South African university students who have called for a zero percent increase in tuition fees. Students from all over the country have been pleading with the government to hear their cries for the past couple of days, which has also resulted in universities being shut down and exams being postponed.

Students will be marching to the Union Buildings today (Friday, 23 October).

Now the fashion world has joined several citizens including celebrities, to rally behind the protesting students. Check out some of the statements from the runway below.
