Well, this is quite incredible. A bottle of Tbo Touch's wine sold for R1.3-million at auction. Yes, R1.3-million.
The vintage cabernet sauvignon bottle was auctioned off at The AfriAsia Cape Wine Auction at Klein Constantia farm in Cape Town over the weekend. The auction raises money to help educate the youth of the Western Cape.
The wine was part of the TouchWarwick range.
Mediterranean Shipping Company executive director Sello Rasethaba was the man who placed the last bid for the wine. The winning price was the most ever fetched for a bottle of wine in Mzansi.
Crazy, right?

Speaking about why the wine went for so much, Touch told Sowetan: "They gave it a five-star rating and that's affirmation from the highest society."
To be honest, if we were to buy a bottle of wine for R1.3-million, we would expect it to come wrapped in R50 short of R1.3-million in notes. We still can't believe this story!
