Some of South Africa's biggest names will be honoured by the African Global Heritage Foundation (AGHF) in the greatest way.
The foundation will launch a Walk of Fame attraction embedded in the pavements of Rosebank along Cradock Avenue. This will be a first on the African contintent. The Walk of Stars will be established in honour of late president Nelson Mandela.
The Rosebank Killarney Gazette reported: "The Walk of Stars will be home to a number of five-pointed stars laid into the sidewalk inscribed with the names of famous personalities who have greatly distinguished themselves and achieved national and international recognition and have contributed to the worldwide prominence of South Africa."
A mock unveiling will be held this month to coincide with Mandela Day, with a formal inaugural induction taking place in September to induct the first Mzansi and African stars.
Some of the big names who will receive stars include Bonang Matheba, Connie Ferguson, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and Hugh Masekela.
