Well, hello there! The ZAlebs Power Rankings is back! Here, we pick five stars who deserve to be recognised as the best around for the week.
Do you agree with our list below? Would you have chosen someone else? If so, let us know in the comments section at the end of the article. We would love to hear from you!
5 - Kelly Khumalo
Kelly Khumalo is often in the news for the wrong reasons, but her move this week to include her children in a music video has led to many people going "Awwwwww!". The video for her Nguye Lo track with Arthur Mafokate includes Christian (son) and Thingo (daughter) - and they are all kinds of cute. Forget the negative you have read with regards to Kelly and embrace the cuteness.
4 - Pharrell
Pharrell's performances in South Africa were met with resistance, given his association with Woolworths. However, the singer took it all in his stride and was more than willing to see both sides of the argument - which has to do with Israel having products on Woolworths shelves. His performances were also top class, so it shows the kind of professional he is to give his best despite outside influences.
3 - Ayanda Mpama
This has been a bittersweet week for Ayanda. She is leaving as the host of #OPW, but that departure has been met with positive vibes with regards to her handling of Twitter trolls and keyboard warriors. She has been able to maintain a professional persona throughout the social media storms of this season of #OPW, and we have so much respect for that.
2 - Candice Pillay
As a singer, one of the people you want to praise you is Dr Dre. While Pillay no longer lives in South Africa, her South African roots ensure that we call her one of our own. Her appearances on Compton were extremely impressive, while Dr Dre has nothing but good things to say about her - with his latest set of quotes goosebump-inducing. Keep flying that flag high, Candice!
1 - Thina Sobabili
While this is not a person but a movie, the number one spot was not going to go to anyone (or anything) else this week. Ernest Nkosi's directorial debut is in line for an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. This is massive for the South African film industry and has made a country extremely proud. Fantastic!
