A new season of American political thriller 'Homeland' will be filmed in South Africa later this year.
According to Digital Spy, the drama series is set to move to Cape Town in the middle of June 2014, when filming on season four of the show will kick off and carry on until November.
Starring Claire Danes as CIA agent Carrie Mathison and Damian Lewis as United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper Nicholas Brody, the storyline of the show's first three seasons revolved around Mathison's suspicions that Brody became a double agent for al-Qaeda while being held captive as a prisoner of war.
The first three seasons of 'Homeland' were filmed in the North Carolina city of Charlotte in the USA.
Said executive producer Alex Gansa: "We've been so lucky to work with one of the best crews in the business for the last three seasons in Charlotte
"We knew going into season four that we would need to move the production overseas to tell the story of Carrie returning to the Middle East as chief of station.
"We are thrilled to have found a new home in Cape Town and look forward to getting season four production off the ground."
In 'Homeland' season four, Carrie heads to the Middle East after being assigned to a very dangerous and unstable CIA station in the region, where she finds herself once more at the forefront of the war on terror.
The new season will hit airwaves in both the US and UK in late 2014.
