Rockville actress, Brenda Ngxoli took us through her journey in the industry, has also taught us a thing or two about hard work.

These days, despite how many new, talented actors are making an impact on the Mzansi entertainment scene, you still can't talk about great actors in this country and not mention Brenda Ngxoli.

The talented actress, who is one of SA's most loved TV personalities, has been nominated for her fourth South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA). Speaking to ZAlebs about this recognition, she said: "As always I'm humbled at the acknowledgment. Congrats to every one though. Those nominated and those not... Sisonke bafowethu (we are all together)."

We guess the SAFTA nod is just a stamp of approval because we all know that Brenda is talented. She proves this every Sunday evening as Gladys on Mzansi Magic's Rockville. We're not the only ones raving about her performance, social media also agrees. The love is humbling, Brenda told us.

However, the actress refuses to take all the credit. Brenda explained: "The writers, directors, make up artists and wardrobe are imperative departments that ensure the success of every production." She thanked the production team and fellow actors for their support, and added: "But most of all thanks to the viewers for watching."

Obviously, the Ferguson Films production would not have been possible without Connie and Shona Ferguson, and that's why Brenda has nothing but good things to say about the power couple. On working with them, she said: "It was fun and very professional. They always treated me with love and respect." On what she has learned from the duo, Brenda said: "A lot... I've learned more from them as a person too... Striving for excellence seems to be their motto. But what is more beautiful to witness is the love they share for each other."

The actress, who got her acting break on SABC, has come a long way. She's worked hard and has given her her all to her career. Although she's on the top of her game, she admitted that it hasn't always been easy. She said: "My journey, like any other journey on earth was full of joys, tears, challenges, surprises, haters, laughters, liars, supporters....you name it!"

But she's managed to defeat the odds. And, when trouble is around the corner, Brenda tells herself, "Keep your head up Brenda, smile for God loves you and forgive others as you continuously strive to forgive yourself."

She said God has been good to her on and off the screen. "God has blessed me in so many areas of my life and I'm grateful for that. But more than the material things of this world I thank God for opening my eyes to the concept of 'God, internal peace, self love. And love for all creation."

Brenda's message to those who want to follow in her footsteps in simple: Love yourself!
