What's Hot: Why Cassper's #FillUpTheDome dream is inspiring

Cassper is gaining a lot of support for his upcoming concert taking place in Johannesburg next month.

We're only a few weeks away from Cassper Nyovest's #FillUpTheDome concert.

The rapper is doing everything in his power to make sure that the show is a great success. On 31 October, many South Africans, inclduing celebrities, will make their way to the Ticket Pro Dome in Johannesburg to witness history in the making.

When he first announced this dream, some people had doubts about him pulling it off. So far, we've only seen international artists filling the venue, which takes about 20,000 people.

So, how is a young man from Mafikeng, North West, going to make this happen? How is he to compete with the likes of Chris Brown, Maxwell, John Legend, and other big stars who have had successful concerts at this venue?

Cassper has a dream

We all probably have things that we want to do or achieve, right? However, sometimes, some dreams seem as if they're too big or out of reach, and some of us end up not being brave enough to follow them. As big (and probably scary) as Cassper's dream might be, he isn't afraid to go for it.

He hasn't been in the industry for that long and already he's doing something that some of his predecessors didn't even dare to do. He is putting everything he has on this vision and is inspiring others, musicians included, to follow their dreams.

Changing the game

Hate him or love him, Cassper is definitely doing his bit to change the game. Over the past few months, we've seen celebs like DJ Black Coffee, Slikour, iFani, Somizi, Micasa, Nhlanhla Nciza, and others showing their support for the rapper.

Former Teargas member, Ntukza, said it better on Twitter last month. He wrote: "That #FillUpTheDome move is the BIGGEST move any artist in Africa has ever made,"  and added that he's behind Cassper. We couldn't agree more with his words.

Who said South Africans don't support their own?

You've probably heard the "South Africans don't support local artists" phrase being thrown around before? But this doesn't seem to be the case here. Mzansi has seen a number of artists selling countless album copies before. The late Brenda Fassie did it, Zahara did it, Nathi Mankayi has done it, and many others.

Even local hip hop is having great support from fans, with people like AKA, K.O, Riky Rick, and others reaching gold.

Cassper has outdone himself with hs debut album Tsholofelo, which went platinum. Impressive! He's even gone on to win several awards for this project, including an MTV Africa Music Award for best hip hop artist. His fans have rallied behind him and have assured him that they will be part of his #FillUpTheDome concert.

With so many people behind Cassper, it doesn't look like the concert will be anything short of a success. This is a brave move from the young rapper and his bravery has definitely not gone unnoticed.

Here's to making history, Cassper!
