Gert-Johan Coetzee is one of the most recognizable names in the fashion industry. He's styled some of the most famous ZAlebrities in the country; and right now he's the man behind Pabi Moloi's look every week on SABC 3's Strictly Come Dancing.
He has worked wonders in the fashion industry and has certainly made his mark, but now, Gert-Johan Coetzee is opening the door for somebody else to be leaving their mark. The stylist has started a search to find the young fashionista who will be taking on the Gert Coetzee Bursary.
The Bursary will enable to one lucky fashion head to study a full degree at the North West School of Design in Klerksdorp where Gert himself graduated in 2005.
The bursary will be to the value of a whopping R160, 000 and will cover tuition, study materials, as well as Bernina Sewing Machine and Overlocker (worth R30, 000!) The prospective winner would be studying a 3 year BA degree majoring in Fashion Design.
Gert will be personally mentoring the winning student himself, and comments on the bursary:
"I am so fortunate to be able to make a living doing what I love, and I would like to pass that opportunity to another young aspirant designer with the same drive"
