What's Hot: Zahara plagued by drinking problem rumours

Although she's said to be a heavy drinker, the award-winning singer insists that she doesn't have a drinking problem.

Does Zahara have a drinking problem? That seems to be the word on the street right now. According to Drum magazine, the Loliwe singer was thrown off a flight to Birmingham, England, where she was due to perform.

A source told the magazine that when the songstress got to the airport, the flight attendants noticed she was too drunk to board. They reportedly wouldn't allow her to fly.

"Robbie Malinga intervened by speaking to the flight attendants but they were having none of it..." Zahara reportedly flew to Birmingham the next day. She is said to have missed one of the shows she was supposed to perform at.

Another source told Drum that the singer is hardly sober. "She looks stressed and frustrated and if she doesn't get help soon things will get worse."

According to the mag, Zahara's drinking problem has become so bad that her friends refer to her home as "the bottle store". "There's always alcohol available," the source added.

When called for comment, Zahara told Drum: "I'm working on my third album now, which is due for release in September, and I don't want to know anything about what people are saying about me having a drinking problem."

Responding to rumours about her being behind in her car and bond repayments, she said: "... I don't know who is spreading rumours about my life. Those are nothing but lies."
