Also known for her role in e.tv soapie ‘Scandal!’, Chuene made her ‘Muvhango’ debut in September 2013, and she has reportedly already developed a reputation as a melodramatic diva.
According to the Daily Sun, both the crew and cast members are getting fed-up with Rami and her alleged outbursts.
“Rami throws tantrums on set,” an insider told the publication.
“She’s always accusing producers of being unprofessional, telling them she doesn’t want to work with amateurs.
“Last year she walked out of a shoot furiously saying crew members make her repeat scenes unnecessarily.”
Another source claims there’s animosity between her main cast member Sindi Dlathu, who plays the role of Thandaza.
“It seems she wants to take over the lead acting role. The way people see her on-screen is the way she acts on set,” claimed the source.
When approached for comment, Chuene confessed that her dedication to her work might be misconstrued, but rubbished the claim that there’s hostility between her and Dlathu.
She said: “I don’t know what to say. People will always talk. I take my job seriously.
“Maybe that gave people the wrong idea. But as for having issues with Thandaza – that’s not true.”
‘Muvhango’ publicist Amanda Ngudle echoed this sentiment, saying: “Rami is the sweetest person on set. All the directors like her because with her there are never retakes.
“But I’m not denying that incidents could have happened. But we haven’t received a formal complaint against her.”
‘Muvhango’ airs on SABC2 at 9pm, Monday to Thursday.
