They say behind every successful man, there’s a strong woman. Don’t believe it? Just ask DJ Black Coffee.
The successful DJ, who is always on the road doing what he loves, has the support of his wife.
In an interview with Tbo Touch on Touch Central, a caller asked the DJ how he juggles between his family and his demanding music career.
He replied: “It is one of those things I can never say ‘I’ve got it’. Every time it’s time to tour, we try to make it work. This is why I literally take my whole family with me… And even though I take them with me, I still have to go, you know, and travel and come back to them when I can.”
The award-winning DJ also stated that what makes it work is the fact that he has an amazing woman (Mbali Mlotshwa) who understands what he does and what he wants to achieve.
“She knows where I want to go… She’s in my corner, she makes it work for me.”
Black Coffee and his family lived in LA for the duration of his tour, and while they were there, Mbali was also doing her own thing.
He told Touch: “She did two different courses while she was there, and aced both of them. It’s not like she’s just following me around, and waiting for me. So while she’s there, she’s also doing her own thing. At the end of the day that’s what I want. I don’t want her to just follow and wait for me. I want her to do everything that, before we met, she wanted to do, at the end of the day.” Said the DJ.
