Wedding bells rang last night on Mzansi's popular soapie The Queen, as Harriet Khoza played by Connie Ferguson and Hector Sebata played by Rapulana Seiphemo said 'I Do'. The show gave the viewers yet another glamorous wedding dubbed “the wedding of the century” by viewers.

It is no secret that the couple's relationship has been marred by controversy. This is as Hector decided to dump his pregnant wife Vuyiswa played by Zandile Msutwana, to get married to Harriet who killed his child Mpho played by Ntando Duma.

With all the drama surrounding their relationship, the pair still managed to defy all the odds and exchanged vows, in a stunning wedding ceremony. Viewers were on the edge of their seats last night after being invited to the show's much-anticipated extravagant wedding. Harriet and Hector looked stunning in their wedding attires and Harriet’s wedding gown stole the hearts of many people. Her gown perfectly fit her body and it had a stunning long trail.

The wedding also saw Kagiso, played by Loyiso MacDonald and Shaka played by SK Khoza making a comeback and viewers were excited to see them on the screen again. Also in attendance was Lindiwe Dikana (The River) played by Sindi Dlathu.

The wedding featured a performance by South Africa's most loved female artist Lira, who got everyone on their feet with her smash hit Phakade. From their wedding attires, the venue, to the world-class production -  it definitely looked like a dream.

What we loved was Hector's vows. He left us reaching for the tissues with his sweet and pure words, ahh, Hector is really gifted with his words. He expressed his love for Harriet and promised to spend the rest of his life with her.

"You were a very pleasant surprise, I didn't realize how much God loved me until now. I will make sure that everyday you realize how much I love you. You will never question my love, wherever you go, I will go. Wherever you leave, I will leave. Your people will be my people, your God will be my God."
The Queen has been airing for 7 years now, but it will close the curtain-for good. The channel recently confirmed the news via a statement. Mzansi Magic revealed that it will premiere its finale 7th season in July 2022 and conclude on 13 January 2023.

“As the M-Net Local Entertainment channels, we would like to applaud the producers, cast and crew of The Queen and Lingashoni for their dedication to delivering riveting storylines and award-winning content in highly contested primetime slots. We look forward to the thrills of the next 12 months as both productions draw towards their respective finales,” said Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net

The show certainly had a great run despite losing viewers. Over the years we have witnessed beautiful scenes, pure acting and talented actors being introduced to the show.
